Samuel Jay Peck was born on July 27th, 1993, in Wichita, KS, where he grew up on the west side. Filled with a lively and joyful personality at a very young age, Sammy made friends easily, poured much of his energy into sports, and passionately followed his favorite team: the Chicago Cubs. Sammy loved to make people laugh and made many seek out his friendship at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School. He had his hands in all sorts of different activities: basketball, choir, the annual Scrabble tournament, the March For Life, and especially a group of young men called the Knights of the Holy Queen, where he first fell in love with this faith.

After graduating in May of 2012, he attended college at Wichita State University and could be seen raucously yelling at every home basketball game. During college, he attended several conferences put on by the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS), where he furthered his relationship with Christ and made many more friends both at Wichita State and Kansas State University. He loved being with young people, coaching middle school basketball and teaching a Confirmation class. After taking a break from school, Sam decided to major in Secondary Education, hoping to coach basketball and develop future leaders and saints for the world.

On June 21st, 2018, Sam joined Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Blessed Pier GiorgioFrassati, and a few others in a select group of saints who passed away at the young age of 24. In the days, weeks, and years following, Sam’s family and friends have never forgotten the pure joy he radiated on a daily basis. His love for Christ, his family, and young people have been a source of great inspiration. Sam’s passions live on through Promise Bound Charities by giving missionaries of all kinds the opportunity to continue the Great Commission to “make disciples of all nations.
